Hi, I’m Chelsea. I’m a product designer living and working in Los Angeles, spending my days thinking through designs, untangling complex problems, and wriggling around in the details.
How I work
Discover & Research
Before beginning any design work, I prioritize gaining a deep understanding of user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. I believe the most effective designs are grounded in this comprehensive foundation. Just as critical is creating alignment and a shared vision among all stakeholders, especially in the early phases of the design process, to ensure the experience is cohesive and well-supported from the start.
What it looks like
Stakeholder interviews, principles definitions, user interviews, personas, desk research, workshops, competitive comparative audits, affinity maps, user stories.
DESIGN, PROTOTYPE, Test
I start with quick, low-fidelity sketches to explore a broad range of ideas and iterate rapidly. As concepts take shape, I move into higher-fidelity designs, refining details and testing early and often to guide solutions. Regular conversations help me capture user behaviors clearly, while close collaboration with cross-functional partners ensures alignment and surfaces potential issues before they grow.
What it looks like
Strategy definition, wireframes, IA maps, card sorts, flows, low-to-high fidelity prototypes, quick internal aand external testing, design check-ins.
measure & iterate
I monitor and stay close to how users interact with the product once it’s live. By tracking behavior and gathering feedback, I spot opportunities for improvement and make quick, iterative updates (as well as opportunity areas for the future). This ensures the experience keeps evolving with user needs, while also building trust and long-term engagement.
What it looks like
Test planning, in-person qualitative testing, remote testing, user feedback, quantitative data findings, annotations and documentation.
Who I’ve played nice with
I take this work seriously, but not much else. I’m excitable, I’m sarcastic, I probably swear more than I should. My presentations are chill and I love hosting workshops or lectures where I’m teaching something. I leave easter eggs in my wireframes. I leave surprise treats and doodles at desks. I prefer to celebrate people on random days, rather than on birthdays or promotion days (but I’ll do that too). I’ll drive you crazy talking about process, and making sure we’re talking about facts, rather than assumptions. Honestly? We’ll probably get along.
